This Thursday at 3pm Boulder County officials will open the LONG awaited Fourmile connector to the Betasso trail system. This new trail will allow cyclist to avoid either the tunnel or the canyon link trail if they want to ride to Betasso. Many have hated the existing two options because the tunnel for many is just damn scary if you don't have a tail light and the link trail can be a pain if you don't have good legs or lungs and sometimes have to watch for the occasional bombing downhiller yelling "Straaaavvvvaaaa".
The Boulder County Commissioners and Parks and Open Space department staff are hosting the grand opening of the .8-mile Fourmile Link Trail connecting Benjamin Loop with Fourmile Canyon Drive at Betasso Preserve on Thursday, July 12, at 3 p.m. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the bridge over Fourmile Creek.
- Hike, bike, or horseback from Benjamin Loop, OR Shuttle from Boulder Canyon park-n-ride to ceremony site begins 2:30 (see map below for shuttle pickup site).
- Ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 3:00 p.m. at the bridge (.25-mile steep hike from Fourmile Canyon Drive.)
- Nature hike after the ceremony.
Last shuttle back to Boulder Canyon lot leaves at 4:15 p.m.
