Superior town trustees approved an agreement Monday night giving responsibilities for marketing and organizing the three-day event to Boulder Racing, a Boulder-based race promotion firm.

The arrangement saves the town more than $100,000 a year -- money it spent on attracting cyclists to the race, closing down roads and running the May event. Superior will still pony up $30,000 as a sponsor.
