New face on the Koppenberg course

Road construction recently completed on the Colorado Koppenberg course and from looking at the results, the race might be a little different next year given that the "road" is a more civilized. The pictures don't show it so well but this "road" has been fixed up so much that you could drive probably about any car up it! And with the new culvert at the bottom there isn't a dip before the hill. But what hasn't changed is Mother Nature, today when I was there the wind was blowing very hard.... Ahhh, good ol Koppenberg!

The road will erode by the spring

Not to worry, winter snows and spring thaw should erode the hill back to the popular ruts and rocks.

Took an early lunch ride and threw a lap on the Koppenberg. You can carry more speed into the hill and get up it a bit quicker. I agree that winter should restore some of the nuance to the hill, but the dip in the road at the bottom seems gone for good.

Mini Van

We road the Koppenberg Hill today and as we were going up the hill a mini-van was descending the hill with out any problems. The hill is in great shape. It will be very interesting to see what the hill looks like in April.
