Fundraiser for local cyclist heading to MTB Worlds in Switzerland

As reported in the Daily Camera

This is Freeman's second trip to the championships; her first was in 2009.

"Last year was a really rough year for me," Freeman said of 2010. "I tore a ligament at the world championships in '09, and my hand was in a cast for a few months, so that's how I started the season. Then my dad passed away, so that was really hard. And then in October, I broke my foot."

"All the stuff that happened was really hard, and it made me dig deep, personally, and I wasn't sure how I would rally," Freeman said.

"But it made me stronger."

This year, Freeman said she'd had four podium finishes at national races, which helped her earn a spot on the worlds team.
