- FasCat Coaching - Cat 3/4 Group Ride Find on map
From Frank Overton: We are hoping to make it a regular thing and a better resource for cat 3, 4 & collegiate cyclists that something like the P1/2 Bus Stop. It will be a coach led ride and open to everyone. We’ll “race” to the tops of the climbs, go hard and work on strategy BUT we’ll regroup at the tops, chat and then ride down together before “racing” back up the next climb. And we’ll change up the routes week to week for variety. But we’ll try to use the climbs for intensity. Ride is Tuesdays at 5:30PM.
- Boulder Networking Ride Find on map
Fun, Wednesday early morning (6:30am) ride which always heads north to Jamestown or Hygenie or somewhere in between. The ride is usually mild but near the end or entry to Jamestown for some the pace really picks up. Ride returns to Amante where a sponsors purchases coffee and pastries for all the riders. Ride stops in Oct due to light limitations. Learn more
- Wednesday Worlds ride Cyclocross only and fall only ride which meets at 7am at Amante in North Boulder and usually heads to the Elks lodge for 1 hr of intense cyclocross training. Given the shortness of the course there really isn't "being dropped" so all are welcome to join regardless of skill or fitness.
- Pearl Izumi, Louisville Colorado. Find on map
Meet at the Peal Izumi head quarters around 12:15 nearly every weekday with 10-ish other riders for a moderate pace covering routes around Louisville and into Boulder.
- Bustop Ride Tuesdays and Thursday at 5:00 pm. Find on map
, this ride historically has problems and does not practice Conscious Cycling
- Boulder Cycling Club
We depart from Boulder Beer on Tuesday evenings and Bacaro on Thursday evenings. We're a non competitive group with a no drop policy on all of our rides. Typically about 25-30 miles. We now have a women only ride which departs from Boulder Beer at the same time on Tuesdays. Departure time changes with the sun, our calendar is updated weekly.
Once we have gathered enough information a new page on our site will be created to allow you to stay up to date on rides you could do.

East

I have never ridden that far east. I used to board my dogs at a kennel in Dacono and remember driving down some deserted dirt roads that would be awesome for riding.

East...it's the new Belgium

I love the rides East of town! Some rollers, a fair amount of wind, great views of the mountains, and a bit of Roubaix-like pavement / dirt / gravel thrown in for fun. The best route we have found out of Denver is roughly 45 miles round-trip from the Stapleton area. It's not exactly scenic on the way out and back but the lack of traffic from Picadilly makes it worthwhile. The route is as follows:
- take MLK out of Denver all the way through Stapleton
- left on to Havanna (where MLK ends)
- right on Smith. Take Smith way out...
- left on Piadilly
- quick right on 26th...this is where the pavement starts to get "interesting"
- left on Hudson...pavement is nice and rough now
- right on 56th.
- right on Imboden
- right on Colfax
- right on Hudson
- left on 26th
- left on Picadilly
- right on Smith
If you want the hard stuff (read: dirt / gravel): instead of turning right on 56th (above), continue on Hudson up to 72nd, right on 72nd, then right again at Imboden, then pick up the directions above

For many of the last 16

For many of the last 16 years I've done a fair bit of my winter riding up north of DIA, around Brighton, Ft Lupton, Hudson, etc... and have only been harassed by a driver ONCE in all those years. Lot's of rolling hills, dirt roads, little to no traffic, and drivers that aren't out to kill you on their way to their kids' soccer match. What's not to love?

Whats not to love...
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Whats not to love is the incredibly monotonous scenery. After three hours on a bike, cows and grass get pretty boring to look at.

Yeah 7 is early, but you're done by 9 and you can go as hard as you want... it's a nice feeling to look at the clock and be able to have the whole rest of the day to do something..
