Glad this person was able to make CSP do something (according to him, anyway), but I've given up using the *CSP line. The last few times it happened, I had plates, vehicle description, and in one case video (hndlebar cam), yet the operator was unconcerned. 'An officer will contact you.' CSP is not obligated to do anything, and in my experience, unless a cop witnesses an event, or there is a collision+witnesses, don't count on anything happening.

To me, this is another reason why motorists demanding license plates for cyclists are delusional: So a motorist calls CSP to report a cyclist for excessive-abreasting/arrogance/not riding on the sidewalk....guess what the cops are going to do without a witness?

I am a female and have regularly shown up for these over the last 3 years. There's usually at least 2 and I've seen up to 5 or 6 females in the early race. I don't know about the later race. With the price increase to almost $20/race this year, I will likely not attend many, if any at all this year.

Because I bike to work every other month of the year. Basically for the same reason why I drive my car on bike to work day...

Not many for the first couple weeks. However one approaches this series as racing or racing/training, it is defintiely a good opportunity to push the needle.

Let me guess... you're going to post the same ol' tired BS about costs for all the upcoming hill climbs? The promoter's costs aren't formulated on either the distance raced or the time it'll take the racers to complete the course. There are costs involved and those costs have to be covered. Apparently there's a demand for hill climbs and those riders who want to do them will have to pay an appropriate fee to have the races on the schedule.

If you're not one of those racers who really likes hill climbs and weren't going to enter anyway, then please just stop with the negativity (how's that for politely telling you to STFU?).

If you are one of those racers who likes hill climbs and are planning to enter but wish it didn't cost so much, you have to recognize that the promoters aren't going to go broke providing a service for you, so please stop with the negativity (hey, there I go again, being all polite).

If you're on the fence about hill climbs (like me, for example) and would like to do them, if only for the experience, but can't justify the expense because you won't really be competitive anyway and you'd essentially be paying for a training ride, then it's for you to decide what is or is not worth your money, but stop with the negativity. It's not helping, it's tiresome, so STFU.

Amazing what kind of influence that some unknown group can have on your activities. None of these people in this obscure group live in the area or participate in cycling.

Wow, this race has a high entry fee. About $4 a mile. Maybe $1 a minute.

I can see paying good money for Superior Morgul but for a simple HC ?!?!
