This Thursday kids at Boulder Valley Schools are encouraged to bike to school (weather pending) to bike to school on their Bike to School Day. While the Boulder schools have had great success in the past with getting kids biking to school there are still plenty of kids easily capable of biking to school but do not. The BVSD school system has been awarded the Oberstar National Award for their successes in biking at Bear Creek Elementary and Heatherwood Elementary. Biking to school with you child(ren) has many positive benefits like and I've seen first hand how it can really unite a community.
In addition to biking to school, this week BVSD is working with Community Cycles of Boulder to have a Bike Collection. Bikes and bike accessories can be brought to the following locations and times this week.
Bike Collection Drive on April 16th and 17th, 8am to 5pm.
Donate your old bikes, parts and accesssories for Community Cycles to reuse.
Tuesday, April 16thDrop-off at Boulder High School in the parking lot at Arapahoe and 15th Street. Wednesday, April 17thDrop-off at Fairview High School in the horseshoe in front, off of Greenbriar.
