Boulder High Parking - driving problem or alt transpotation problem?

The daily Camera tells of parking problems at Boulder High however lucky for them U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer announced a new bill expanding Safe Routes to Schools for High Schools. So does Boulder High have a parking problem or a alternative transportation problem or more embarrassing for the school is there a lack of marketing for alt transportation? Boulder High sits RIGHT ON the Boulder Creek path AND is next to downtown's bus station so the options are pretty wide. What has gone wrong here?

Back in my day there was a pilot program to give all BHS students ECO Passes. Not a bad way to encourage riding the RTD to school, and to help young 'uns learn about the ease of riding the bus where you want to go.
