Wednesday under gloomy skies around 50 cyclists gathered in Boulder to set out on a ride remembering those who have been killed while riding a bike. It is humbling to hear the names read off in the video below.
“The issue you will have to decide is whether the defendant was careless when he turned into the driveway when the bicyclists had the right of way,” prosecutor Laura Kinde said.
Kinde told the jury that Ramirez drove the route multiple times as part of his job, and that he should have taken extra precaution to account for the fact that he was driving into the sun on a route used by cyclists.
