The City of Boulder released it bike share RFP last Friday.

The City of Boulder invites qualified organizations, companies, vendors / manufacturers or other entities to submit a proposal to develop, install, operate and maintain a “third generation” public bikeshare program in the City of Boulder. The ideal program would incorporate information technology with a fleet of shared bicycles that may be rented from one bikeshare station and returned to another in a network of bikeshare stations, providing a transportation alternative to motor vehicle trips for Boulder’s residents, employees and visitors.
Some of goals listed
- Increase use and awareness of Boulder’s award?winning 300+ miles of bikeways;
- Create new bicycle commuters;
- Expand community partnerships in support of bicycling as an active, fun and convenient transportation mode;
- and Leverage city contribution and commitment of the program with community?based sponsorship revenues.
