From Bicycle Colorado

Clear Creek and Jefferson Counties have begun work on a $10.2 million, six-mile segment of the Peaks to Plains trail, a paved, multipurpose trail that will eventually connect Loveland Pass to a connection with the South Platte River Trail in Adams County.

This trail segment will follow Clear Creek along US Highway 6, and will connect the Mayhem Gulch Trailhead in Jefferson County to Tunnel 5 in Clear Creek County. It will include three bridges that span Clear Creek, five improved water access points, 30 to 45 additional parking spaces in Jefferson County and five parking spaces at a trailhead at the Oxbow Parcel in Clear Creek County.
