GO Boulder to name bike-friendly businesses

BOULDER – GO Boulder and Community Cycles announce the launch of the Boulder Bicycle Friendly Business Program, which recognizes Boulder businesses that make bicycle commuting an attractive and feasible option for employees and visitors.

Businesses interested in receiving this distinction are asked to take a survey ranking their achievements. The survey ranks efforts such as bike parking, involvement in community biking events such as Bike to Work Day, employee incentives such as ECOpass, the availability of changing facilities, the use of bicycle delivery services, and availability of loaner or company bikes for employees.

Businesses are ranked from level one to four, with one being the highest distinction. Businesses are encouraged to upgrade their efforts and apply for a redesignation.

Honored businesses will be announced at least twice a year – Winter Bike to Work Day and Walk and Bike Month in June – and more often if necessary. Businesses can apply year-round.
