Open Race Only

I'm just doing the Open race, Brandon too. Sticking with the same category thruout the Colorado Cross Cup.

But only 5 votes for me so far? Come on people, I could whip those other guys with one leg!! Ha Ha. See everyone at the race, and good luck to all!

Why would it matter if they raced the Masters race at States but not at Natz? That makes absolutely no sense. Is there a state-level policy that you can be too fast to race Masters? States vs. Natz aside, the real question is, should folks who race Elite all year jump in and race Masters championship events? Turn the statement around, and you can perhaps understand my perspective; they are legitimate Master's age racers, but still fast enough to ALSO race elites. You never hear folks in the Open category complain if someone unexpectedly strong shows up to a local race; its all in the spirit of competition. The only complainers are those who have grown accustomed to a watered-down level of competition and are unpleasantly surprised when a stronger racer chooses to race in THEIR category. Bollocks. If you want ability (not age) graded competition, there's always the 35+ 4's.

[rolleyes] Uh, racing a cat

[rolleyes]

Uh, racing a cat down and crushing it in your home community is weird. Just saying. I wouldn't find joy in that. Of course it's allowed and I certainly wouldn't judge them if they raced both cats, but what's the point? Let the guys who have gutted it out all year in this category have their day.

Uh, it's not a "cat down", it's the 35+ OPEN race. Why should anyone get gifted the win, just 'cause they have been racing it all year? They DESERVE to win because they have been beating the slower old guys the entire season? Also, saying something is "weird", and then claiming to "not judge" is a bit disingenuous. People have plenty of reasons to want to race on both days this coming weekend, one being good preparation for the main event on Sunday. Perhaps some of the oldsters could enter the Open race to get feel for where they really shake out amongst their age-group peers.

"Why should anyone get

"Why should anyone get gifted the win, just 'cause they have been racing it all year? They DESERVE to win because they have been beating the slower old guys the entire season?"

This is a dickish thing to say. So Ward B. was gifted the win last year because PW and BD didn't race the 35+ Open? You are unbelievable.

Twisted

Let not get nasty here; my only point was that whoever wants to race, and is allowed to races within the rules, should be able to race without being judged. The winner of any race is the rightful winner, Ward Baker included.
