LONGMONT - Oskar Blues Brewery LLC in Longmont has a new mountain bike company with a whimsical name - Reeb Cycles (beer spelled backward.)

Reeb is making single-speed, mountain bikes using a Carbon Drive system made by Denver-based Gates Corp. The rubber belt-driven system replaces a standard bike chain. Oskar Blues' mountain bike team has filmed a video available on YouTube in which riders use bikes outfitted with the belt drive. The video can be accessed at carbondrivesystems.com.

"We're having so much fun, we have a hard time keeping it to ourselves," said Chad Melis, a company spokesman. "We want to transfer that passion and that love for riding for something that is ours, and share it with people - just like the beer, or the restaurants for that matter."
