Denver Police have located a vehicle suspected of hitting and killing a bicyclist in a hit-and-run accident early Sunday. But officers have not yet located the driver, according to a Medina Alert issued Sunday morning.

Medina Alerts are issued in cases involving hit-and-run crashes that cause serious bodily injury. The alerts were established in 2014 and are named for 21-year-old valet driver Jose Medina, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident. A taxi driver witnessed that crash, followed the driver and provided the license plate number to police leading to the arrest of the suspect who was sentenced to the maximum penalty of 12 years for a hit-and-run resulting in death.

The hit-and-run crash happened about 1:30 a.m Sunday at 1st Avenue and Gilpin Street.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
