    ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
    Cycles is a non­profit organization of bicycle enthusiasts whose mission is to educate and advocate for the safe use of bicycles as an affordable, viable and sustainable means of transportation and personal enjoyment within our community. We provide re­cycled bikes and a welcome space to learn about bicycle repair, maintenance and operation through outreach and advocacy activities.     REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
    ● Two or more years of experience in a bike shop, community bike project, non­profit, or related bike industry organization
    ● Professional­ level bike mechanical skills Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of working cROLE

    The Educational Programs Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing classes and workshops that empower and educate cyclists of a variety of backgrounds and skill levels. Education is an essential component of our mission to empower cyclists, and to make cycling a safe and sustainable transportation option. The Educational Programs Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director, Development Director and Sales & Service Manager to identify how classes and workshops can best serve Community Cycles’ mission. Workshops are an important way to keep Community Cycles members and volunteers active and engaged in the community. Additionally, the Educational Programs Coordinator fosters strong community partnerships by developing workshops that meet the needs of underserved communities in the Boulder area.

    This is the perfect job for someone willing to take charge of a program, develop a vision and pursue that vision. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, organized, self­starter. This program and position has great growth potential for the right candidate.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    ● Design and implement workshops and classes for cyclists of a variety of backgrounds and skill levels
    ● Ensure the continuing success of existing educational programs such as volunteer training workshops and Earn­A­Bike while continuing to grow educational programming to reach new communities
    ● Act as lead instructor for classes and workshops
    ● Work with our Development Director to create strong community partnerships
    ● Contribute to the organization's vision, participate in organization­ wide programs, and help to create a sustainable organizational culture
    ● ooperatively in a team and across departments
    ● Previous experience designing workshops and developing hands on curriculum
    ● Enthusiasm for Community Cycles’ mission and the ability to motivate others around that mission
    ● Commitment to sustainable communities and bicycle transportation
    ● Willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of racial, cultural, religious and economic backgrounds, with various ages, lifestyles, sexual orientations, gender orientations and political beliefs

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
    ● Energetic, flexible, personable, and a sense of humor
    ● Ability to write in a clear and concise manner and verbally communicate with people from diverse communities
    ● Spanish speaking a huge plus
    ● Ability to manage time effectively
    ● Comfort with speaking in front of groups

    $11 per hour to start, 70 hours a month, but there is a great opportunity for this job to develop into a position with more hours at a higher pay rate
