Saturday October 1, 2016
Grand Junction

Join us for the ICON Eyecare TOUR of the MOON, Grand Cycling Classic, on October 1, 2016 in Grand Junction / Colorado National Monument (a unit of the National Park System).

The Tour of the Moon was made famous in the 1980’s Coors Classic and later in the cycling movie American Flyers. Today, it continues to be considered one of the premier recreational rides in the western United States. The breathtaking, high desert scenery and beautiful roads make this an epic day of cycling.

Red Rocks Gran Fondo

Red Rocks Gran Fondo is a challenging and scenic ride through the Colorado Front Range, followed by an epic after-party. Riders will ride through local landmarks including Dinosaur Ridge and Red Rocks Park, as well as classic mountain towns. This Gran Fondo-style ride includes timed segments and some challenging climbs in elevation. Our dedicated committee of volunteers works very hard all year to make this full-charity event a success. We are passionate about cycling and about helping to meaningfully address community needs.

SOS River Ride

The SOS Outreach Colorado-Eagle River Ride is a premier event in the Vail Valley benefiting the youth development non-profit SOS Outreach. The ride loops from Beaver Creek Ski Resort out along the scenic banks of the Colorado and Eagle Rivers, including the famous hard-packed dirt portion of the Colorado River Road. There are multiple routes to suit each rider’s ability including a 100 mile, 68 mile and 42 mile. This unique ride gives you an opportunity to ride a course that can be difficult without full SAG support, and all proceeds benefit a great cause.

Buena Vista Bike Fest

The beautiful century route goes North to Leadville, along the scenic rolling hills of Turquoise Lake Road, around the Mineral Belt Trail passing aspen groves and conifer forests, meandering through the historic Leadville Mining District, and back to Buena Vista in the shadows of Colorado’s highest mountain peaks. Nearly all of the climbing is completed over the first 60 miles of the ride, with the last 40 miles essentially downhill to flat!

The Worthwhile Mile - June 2-8

Ride fully supported from Denver to Durango. This 7-day ride journeys through some of the Rocky Mountains most beautiful landscapes -- foothills, peaks, and everything in between. Up to 30 riders may register for the wm4WSEF ride. It is a fully supported ride with three meals/day and overnight locations pre-arranged. This is a service-oriented adventure, as all riders commit to fundraising $1000 prior to the trip. All rider-raised funds will go to support the Walter Spohn Education Fund.
