Colorado Bike Expo to Benefit Local Charities

bike expoThe 2016 Primal Colorado Bike Expo will be held Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 in Lot J on the west side of Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Exhibitors will include fantastic Colorado-based brands like Full Cycle, Connor Wood Bicycles, and Polar Bottle. In addition to Primal, we have the generous support of Audi Denver, Alpine Cycling Connection, Bike State 38, Wish for Wheels, 303 Cycling/303Triathlon, and Feedback Sports.

These sponsorships, along with exhibitor fees, not only make this event possible but they will also allow us to make financial contributions to some great local bike organizations.

Beneficiaries for this year are Wish For Wheels, Trips for Kids Denver Metro, and the Colorado High School Cycling League, who will be providing the Expo with their wonderful volunteers. They are are all doing amazing work in the Denver area biking community and we’re very pleased to be able to support them.

wish for wheelsWish for Wheels

Our mission is to transform the lives of kids from low-income families, broadening their scope for personal growth and a healthy lifestyle through the gift of a new bicycle.
Wish for Wheels’ goal is to give as many kids as possible brand new bikes and helmets. It brings communities together, gives many of us the opportunity to give back, and most importantly puts a whole lot of smiles on a whole lot of faces.
With one-in-five children in the Denver area living in poverty, a brand new bike is only a dream for many. You can help change that. We all remember that very first bike. That’s a memory no child should go without.

TFKTrips for Kids Denver Metro

The mission of Trips for Kids Denver Metro is to use bicycles as a tool to engage disadvantaged and special needs youth in a range of activities designed to foster life skills and healthy youth development – introducing them to possibilities they never knew existed – both within themselves and in the world around them.

Trips for Kids Denver Metro offers three programs:

Earn-a-Bike – disadvantaged youth earn a bike of their own by completing multi-session training course covering the fundamentals of bike repair/maintenance and the rules of urban bike safety.

Ride – introducing mountain biking to at-risk youth through rides in the west of Denver foothills.

Youth-at-Work – supervised, hands on youth work development program at our social enterprise bike shop, Lucky Bikes Re-Cyclery.

The inaugural race series for the Colorado League was the Fall of 2010 with 183 student athletes participating representing 20 teams from throughout the state and southern Wyoming. The Colorado League participation grew in 2015 to 866 student athletes from 58 teams. We provide a well-defined race season that promotes the formation of teams at public and private high schools. With the cooperation of local communities and our sponsors we put together a first class series of races designed for high school aged riders. A primary focus is to develop strong mind, bodies and characters in an inclusive, egalitarian environment by engaging juniors in the challenging and exciting world of competitive cycling.
