Tuesday night, the Boulder Cycling Club hosted their end of season party. Attendance was about 40-ish folks which isn't bad considering they just started this organization in the last 12 months.
While at the party they gave away some pretty cool raffle prizes, even a jersey signed by a former TDF winner! In addition to free food and prizes there were also some cycling vendors, like Davis Phinney Foundation, Cyclist with disabilities and a tour organizer. I spoke with many of the folks there and sadly, few knew of 303cycling, probably because none of them are racers, this was a true 100% club cycling group. My guess was that the average age attending the party was mid 40's with maybe more women then men. This club has really struck a void in the greater Boulder cycling area in that they have really successfully obtained the title of club. There are plenty of racing team clubs like Rocky Mounts, Blue Sky, etc and while those are great organization they according to many Boulder Cycling Club members are too elite/fast. I briefly got the chance to speak with Donald from Boulder Cycling Club and right from the start you can tell this guy is passionate about cycling and this club.
