Beginning in May next year, Boulder residents and visitors will be able to step up to automated kiosks placed throughout the city and rent a bicycle for as little as a $5 -- if a contract for Boulder's latest foray into public bike sharing is finalized.

The city is working with B-cycle and the nonprofit group Boulder Bike Sharing to finalize details of a wide-scale bike-rental program.
