Boulder police ticket green VW van driver in bicycle hit-and-run last May

Boulder police have ticketed a woman who allegedly hit a 51-yar-old bicyclist in May before apologizing and then driving away, according to officials.

Police ticketed Carol Kobel, 62, of Longmont, with careless driving causing injury.

According to police, Kobel was driving a green Volkswagen van north on 15th Street near Spruce Street on May 11 when she turned right in front of a bicyclist. The bicyclist was unable to stop and hit her arm and head on the back of the van.
