Boulder County sheriff's deputy hits cyclist on Baseline Road

A Boulder County sheriff's deputy hit a cyclist Monday afternoon as he pulled his patrol car across Baseline Road east of Boulder.

Deputy Les Harrison was heading north across Baseline from the the parking lot at the Bobolink Trailhead to Gapter Road at about 6:30 p.m. when he struck Kelly Skinner, 36, as she was riding west on Baseline in the bike lane, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Skinner was taken to Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

Harrison was ticketed by the Colorado State Patrol for failing to yield the right of way when entering a highway, according to the Sheriff's Office.
