Berthod cyclist attacker found guilty

On July 18th of 2010 Bryce Barker attacked a cyclist with a bat on County Road 6 just outside of Berthod. The act destroyed the bike and terrified the cyclist. The case just finished in court and Bryce was found guilty. I find the comments to our orignal story on 303 to be rather comical now that the case is closed

LOVELAND - After nearly eight hours of deliberation, a jury Friday found Bryce Barker, 24, guilty of criminal mischief and menacing for attacking a group of cyclists in Berthoud last summer.

Barker faced felony counts of menacing and criminal mischief, to which he pleaded not guilty last fall. With the verdict, the jury reduced the criminal mischief charge to $500 to $1,000, making it a Class 1 misdemeanor. The menacing with a deadly weapon charge is a class 5 felony.
