About World Bicycle Relief
Proceeds from the event will benefit World Bicycle Relief, a non-profit organization committed to providing access to independence and livelihood through the Power of Bicycles. The specifically designed, culturally appropriate bicycles improve the living conditions of students, healthcare workers, entrepreneurs, and other NGOs in rural Africa. With these robust bicycles, costing only $134 to distribute, World Bicycle Relief has been able to provide over 105,000 bicycles in nine countries, since the organization’s inception in 2005.

World Bicycle Relief is currently funding a 50,000-bicycle distribution to students (70 percent to girls) in rural Zambia and Zimbabwe through its Bicycles for Educational Empowerment Program (BEEP), in an effort to break the transportation barriers that keep children from attending school and hinder progress in the developing world.
