EVERGREEN, Colo., Feb. 11, 2014 -- The Evergreen Composite Mountain Biking Team, which includes student riders from Evergreen and Conifer High Schools, is hosting an Open House for high school bike enthusiasts on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5:30-8:00 p.m., held at Evergreen’s Buchanan Park Recreation Center, 32003 Ellingwood Trail. Students and parents can register for the 2014 season, while learning more about the team’s spring and summer training rides on local mountain trails, optional races and organized bike events.
The Evergreen Composite Mountain Biking Team, which collectively ranked ninth in the state last season, embraces one of Colorado’s favorite sports and is part of the Colorado High School Cycling League and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) – one of the biggest mountain biking programs in the country. The team is committed to a positive cycling experience for all of its student athletes, regardless of riding abilities, and is comprised of passionate mountain bikers who want to bring this sport into their high schools and onto the trails.
“We are planning our 2014 season. The Evergreen Team is one of the original teams in the league, so we've grown and learned every season. If you have any interest in racing mountain bikes or just would like to be part of a positive riding experience come check us out,” said Evergreen’s Composite Team’s head coach, Rob Quinn.
Interested Evergreen and Conifer High School student athletes and their parents should attend the Feb. 27th Open House. Contact either coach Rob Quinn (Boardmanq@aol.com) or assistant coaches and EHS teachers, Colin Booth (email@example.com) or Andrew Speers (firstname.lastname@example.org), to be included on the team e-mail list.
