Event set to pedal through Summit County to benefit Children’s Hospital Colorado reaches 25% capacity

A renowned cycling event since 1989, the Courage Classic presented by Prologis, is a three-day journey fueled by individual and team fundraising efforts that benefits Children’s Hospital Colorado. More than 2,000 cyclists of all ages and ability levels, hundreds of volunteers and several generous sponsors participate each year to support the needs of Children’s Colorado. The more than 155-mile, multi-route course winds through Summit, Eagle and Lake Counties during the height of the Rocky Mountain’s summertime beauty.

This year’s tour, held July 19 to 21, marks the 25th tour and participants will be treated to special celebrations for this milestone event. . As excitement builds, registration numbers soar. Public registration opened only two weeks ago and already spots are filling up 30% faster than last year. More than 80 teams and 500 riders are already signed up. Registration for this event is already 25% filled and expected to sell out earlier than usual. Interested participants are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible.

Participant fees for the event are as follows: $120 for adults (ages 16 and older) and $60 for children (ages 15 and younger). If participants register before midnight on April 1, adult registration is $95 and child registration is only $50. In addition to the registration fee, adult riders must raise a minimum of $300 in donations to participate and children must raise a minimum of $125.

The funds raised by Courage Classic riders benefit the Children’s Fund, helping Children's Colorado sustain and improve care for every patient. Purchasing essential new medical equipment, covering the cost of care for patients unable to afford treatment, or supporting new child health research are a just a few examples of how donations can impact local children.

Last year, the Courage Classic raised more than $2 million and this year’s goal has been set for a record-breaking $2.8 million. Participants can help reach this goal and celebrate the 25th tour by joining the Up 25 campaign, increasing their personal fundraising goal 25% over their previous fundraising total
