Two unbelievable winter events - A morning fatbike race followed by a winter adventure run.
Situated at over 10,000 feet, our fatbike race is your opportunity to get some fun, winter FATtire competition. Amazing groomed terrain and a Rocky Mountain backdrop will help keep your fat tires turning as you hammer around the Colorado Fatbike Championships course presented by Borealis Bikes and Pedal of Littleton.
This 3-4 mile off road winter adventure run is sure to warm your blood. Expect steep inclines, deep snow, thick forests, sledding sections and other challenging winter themed obstacles to overcome. Yeti costumes are encouraged but beware, you may encounter the real thing while in the woods….
What is the Colorado Fatbike Championship?
Situated in Como, Colorado at over 10,000 feet, this fatbike race is your opportunity to get some fun, winter FATtire competition. Amazing groomed terrain and a Rocky Mountain backdrop will help keep your fat tires turning as you hammer around the 15-20 mile course. Our fatbike race has been designated as the inaugural Colorado Fatbike Championship. Individuals racing fatbikes are eligible for scoring in the Mountain Fatbike Series.
What is the team competition?
We recognize that many racers throughout Colorado are affiliated with a corporate/sponsored/club/college/high school teams and we want to invite all of you to compete in a great unique, team atmosphere. Riders will form teams of 2-4 racers and race in a relay style. There will be one team category, including all 2-person, 3-person, and 4-person teams. So, if you're team is strong enough, you can compete with only two riders. If your riders anticipate a little too much pump
What if you don't own a fatbike?
That's the great part of being part of a team. You can share a bike! One rider does a lap and then hands it off to the next. Have different sized riders? Just get two bikes to accommodate similar sized riders. Check with your riding friends, the shop that sponsors you, or check with Pedal of Littleton to get you riding fat (www.pedalonline.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 303.798.5033).
The course will be a 4-loop format. The laps will be approximately 4-5 miles of a mix of open trails, forested areas, and singletrack, mostly groomed! Expect some hills, snowbanks, and some manmade snow features. The final map will be posted closer to the event. You can expect a total time of 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours, depending on your team's riding level.
