2013 Bike Friendly states announced, Colorado jumps to #2

Colorado jumped up from 4th to 2nd place (we were 14th in 2010) This is very great for the state to finally get recognized as the great bike friendly state we are. Looks like Education and Legislature and Enforcement rank high in Colorado, probably can thank Bicycle Colorado a lot for this component of the ranking!

From Bicycle Colorado newsletter

We think our state's progress in bicycle-friendliness is a result of the years of hard work funded by Bicycle Colorado members and supporters. Colorado's bicycle traffic laws are highlighted as a national model protecting bicyclists' rights.

But, Colorado's lack of consistent, substantial funding for bicycle infrastructure, education and planning puts us at risk for dropping in the rankings next year. More work is needed in this area and we'd like Colorado to be the national leader in this category too.

We thank the state legislators and officials who are dedicated to making Colorado the best state for bike riding in the country. And we thank you for your support.
