Fee Structure Does Not Promote Growth and Participation
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Shouldn't race fees be the same for all Master's classes? It's $30 for the 35+ 1/2/3 for a 60 minute race but the 3's and 4/5's pay the same fee but race for for 33% and 50% less time, respectively. I do not think this fee structure is the way to grow the sport USAC!

Do you divide all things time
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Do you divide all things time/money?
If you buy a $5000 bike you need to ride it 83 1/3 hours to equal a dollar a minute.
How about a $1000 whitewater kayak? You would have to use it 100 days to equal $10 a day(use)
Go to a movie, it is cheap. About 8 cents a minute.

Buying something that will
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Buying something that will last for years and does have some residual value and comparing it to an event that is a moment in time event isn't a good comparison. At Stazio there are 510 minutes of racing and clinics (not counting the 3 laps for the J10-14's). 510/12 is 42.5 minutes of racing for each Category. Consolidate all three 10 minute clinics together prior to the first race and you can add back 2.5 minutes per Cat for 45 minutes each. The revenue for the promoter doesn't change and all Cats race the same time amount. In fact the college kids get more racing for the same money. I do think it's important for the Pro 1-2's to race a full 60 minutes because many of them travel so three of the more entry level Cats could be 40 minutes (still 10 minutes more than previous) to give the Pro Cat a full hour. I'm sure it's not the only way to slice and dice it but it would equal out the Master's Cats in terms of cost of racing and add more value to the 4/5 group which should, to some degree, promote growth.

Any plans for BRAC to add the results for the 2nd group of SM4-5 racers? They added the first group and then took the time to add the Sunday Colorado Classic race but not finish the 2nd group. What the Hell? Take care of one race first then go on to the results of the next race.

I sued the ACA and won to get my results fixed and I'll sue the promotor too if they don't show all the results. And accurate!

Gotta get your results online so you can show your sponsors how you've earned that 10% discount on tubes you're getting?

Look under All Groups

The SM 4 Overflow group results can be found if you look under the 'All Groups' dropdown box option. Not ideal... but if you need your results, they are there.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
It amazes me how many assholes post on here. Cyclists are supposed to be positive and nice people. Ragging on someone that earned a right to have results posted like EVERYONE else, is so childish. Grow up people. Doesn't matter if the person won or came in last, results for each category race should be posted with the others.
From what I saw, it looked like they were more concerned about hightailing it out of there than to focus on the results. Perhaps they shouldn't have let so many reace entrants into the 4/5 race. If they know the safe limit for racers on the course, they should've stopped there and said sorry, we're full. Instead, they kept accepting race day applications and collected more money.

You are mistaken in your belief that someone has a RIGHT to have results posted online.
Of all aspects of a race, whether it be how I finished, how my teammates finished, if I rode smart or made mistakes, or whatever, online race results is not even close to on my radar of things to care about. The race matters, not online results.

Self-Esteem
Submitted by Roger Knight (not verified) on
So sad, the youtube generation/twitter famous fools who're more concerned about seeing their results (no matter how pathetic) posted online than they are about the race itself. My guess is they spent much of the childhood hearing their mom say "good job" after the most meager of efforts on their part. Thank goodness for the self-esteem movement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSjLiQxEZlM&feature=share&list=PL87202A87...

The race admin did a great
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
The race admin did a great thing by doing 2 races of 4/5s. A group of 75 4/5s would suck. 2 races of 45ish was a good call.
The race director had to pay more for a second race yet the racers got a better and safe race.
How about them apples?!

What would've happened IF all
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
What would've happened IF all 100 racers (limits given to the other categories) had shown up for the other categories? Would you have raced 100 on that course? Break those into two races and extend the race until Midnight? Cancel all of the races that would've extended into darkness? Would it have been better to break the race up by Cat 4 and Cat 5 racers? There were 83 racers registered in a 75 race limit. Taking in more racers than the limit is unsafe and not smart. Perhaps limits should've been adjusted for safety through experience from the 2011 races.

The races worked out pretty
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
The races worked out pretty well if not better than planned.
There is no precedent or rule allowance to let the number of racers be more than the field limits. none, zero, nada
A race director can make the field limit smaller though. On that course they should consider that.
I am sure that the reasons that the 4/5s were split is because registration went over 75, hard to get 7 people to not race, it was at the end of the day, there was enough daylight (http://www.sunrisesunset.com/USA/) and it was better to have two smaller races over all.
Thank the director for the money he spent on another race.
Your "what ifs" are "BS".

To all you complainers!!
Go direct our own race and "do better".
Go work for 14 hours at a race.
Go sit on the judge stand for 12 hours and score a race. Go score a race with a sub par camera.
Maybe your comments will be taken and the admin will do just top three. That's all they HAD to do.
I bet that the results will be out soon cause they took them home and took time to get em right or real close.

As a participant in the second 4/5 race and nearly the last guy to reg, I'll just say "thanks" to all involved in pulling it off--had to be difficult given the cancellation two weeks prior.
There was a little anxiety coming into the first race of the season but it was a blast and it ended up having a fun "training crit" feel to it not unlike the Wednesday night series last year (that's a compliment). Everybody was cool (reg tent, officials and fellow racers) and props to the juniors in the field who animated the race. Glad I came out.

The SM 4 second race was a blast. Everyone in the front group were respectful and looking out for eachother. Kudos to the guy whose tire exploded for keeping it upright and those kids were bustin moves. A little sketchy when it started to get dark but I loved every second of it. Thanks to all involved for staying late and making ita safe race for all
