Starting under beautiful a beautiful sky, this 5.2 mile race, the Winter Park Hill Climb rolled off without a hitch. Starting at the base near the Gemini Ski Lift and ending at the top of the Mary Jane side, this 2062 ft gain race is a hard test of your Spring training or dieting or both.

Saturday was also opening for the lift lines, the trails and Trestle Park and things were PACKED! I've never seen lift lines so long and it was not because of technical glitches, but due to popularity. Really amazing to see how Mountain Biking keeps rediscovering itself and at Winter Park they nailed it.

either...

but whichever you choose, you have to race the rest of the series on the same bike...

i guess it sometimes does bother me when i see cx bikes in a mtb race. but i also understand that it's not against the rules. and yeah, i've raced my mtb in a few 'cross races (it's my spare/backup bike in the pit) but I feel weird about it... sometimes though the cx courses are more short track mtb than 'cross.

anyways, i digress. i bet that the hillclimb road will be fine for either bike, it's been pretty dry/warm the last several days...

That's funny I don't see that in the rules:
