2011 - Tour of the Valley

Description:
Cycle in the beautiful Grand Valley, route options of 100, 75, 50 & 30 miles which encompass an inspiring variety of landscape; from the rolling vineyard hills and peach orchards of Palisade and the farm fields of Fruita, to the spectacular sculptured canyons and red rock spires of the Colorado National Monument, you will be in awe of the landscape diversity of this magical valley.

Difficulty:
The 100-mile course is difficult as it routes OVER the Colorado National Monument. Rising 2,500 feet (a 4 mile ascent) above the Grand Valley of the Colorado River, this is a very challenging and beautiful ride. The magnificent views of the spectacular sheer-walled canyons cut deep into sandstone, the rock spire monoliths, colorful rock formations and the spectacular Rim Rock Road. The 75, 50 and 30 mile rides have little climbing, the challenge is the distance.
