First, I would like to say thank you to the vendors for their great response to our 2011 Holiday Gift guide and for their inquiries about being added to the list. The 303Cycling Holiday Gift Guide sets itself apart by only including products that have been recently used and enjoyed by one of us here at 303Cycling. If you missed part 1 check it out here
Topeak SmartGauge D2
Ever since I started playing around with tire pressure a few years ago, I carry a pressure gauge in my toolkit. I never realized how important it was and later learned during a talk that Pete Webber gave last year that tire pressure isn’t only important, it’s critical. When I started paying even closer attention I also found the gauge on my bike pump to often be inaccurate. I have a Joe Blow pump which I love but the tire gauge is 8psi +/-. I bought the Topeak SmartGauge D2 becasue I lost my other gauge and needed it to get ready for the Iceman this year and I love it. It has all the features like presta or sharader, pressure bleed and rotating head. This would make a great gift for anyone wanting to get the most out of their ride.
I didnt want to feature all bike products for this gift guide so what could be better than a nice gift of cured meats, stinky cheese and some wine or a six pack from a tiny brewery in Colorado. Cured has it all. I really love their back room of wine, sprits and beer. The thing I think is really cool is that all the beer and spirits they carry are made in Colorado. I have also tried nearly all of the cured meats and a handful of the cheeses and have never been disappointed. Go check it out and tell Will or Coral that you read this on 303Cycling.
Rapha - Long Sleeve Jersey
When it comes to Rapha products its all about function and style. I am amazed at the details that go into the seemingly simplest of products. The Long Sleeve Jersey is made from super soft merino wool, has a full length zipper and a well thought out rear pocket configuration. It even has a small patch inside one of the rear pockets with a description of Marco Pantani’s "greatest victory on Les Deux Alpes" during the 1998 Tour. I have used it as both a mid-layer and an outer layer combined with a thin baser layer. It’s so good looking, you might get away with wearing it off the bike! This product is definitely worth every penny.
