New! Start/Finish Location
The Deer Creek Challenge has added a NEW scenic start/finish location at the Johns Manville technical center on the corner of West Ute Avenue and West Toller Drive.

Brief Description
33 mile, Metric Century and the Hardest Century in the Country

The 2nd Annual Deer Creek Challenge will take place on Sunday, August 21, 2011. The 3 courses offer spectacular vertical gains, technical descents and a chance to ride these roads with limited traffic and full support including SAG on demand!, fully loaded aid stations and a great post ride party with free beer and tasty food.

Free beer by Colorado Native
All riders earn free, icy cold beer at the post-ride party courtesy of Colorado Native Lager.

Best of Colorado
The Deer Creek Challenge earned "Best Cycling Event" title by Competitor Magazine.

33-mile Course
4,200 feet of elevation gain
Don't let the distance fool you - this is a serious ride. It takes you up City View and down High Grade Road. Exceptional control and safe speeds are a must. Once back to Deer Creek Canyon, it is an easy 6-mile ride back to the finish.

62-mile Course
7,053 feet of elevation gain
Follows the 33-mile course but adds a loop through Evergreen and Kittredge before returning home to the post-ride party.

100-/89-mile Course
12,751 feet of elevation gain
This is the big one! This course includes a trip to Shadow Mountain and second trip up City View. There is an 89-mile option that still includes over 10,000 vertical feet of climbing and all the Deer Creek Challenge has to offer, except a second trip up City View!

The 89-mile option is included as part of the 100-mile course, so register for the Century and see how you feel when you get to the final City View climb. Remember - only people completing all 100 miles of the century course can earn the Century jersey. We'll be marking bibs at key points along the way. View the course map.
