Updated, further information on Boulder donation..

Community Cycles is gearing up for our 4th Annual Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway, and we need some expert mechanics. amateur mechanics and just helping hands to help us put the finishing touches on the bikes. You can read more about our Giveaway program, and about our organization in general, on our website, www.communitycycles.org.

We'll be working on the bikes in the week leading up to the giveaway. Starting on Saturday, the 12th of December, and happening every day until 19th, we'll tune, clean and prep the bikes for the 20th. The bikes will be moved over to Boulder Indoor Cycling on the evening of Saturday, the 19th. We'll have about 300 bikes that need varying degrees of attention.

These are kids bikes (between 12 inch and 24 inch bikes) so they're not as complicated as most adult bikes. There are a few with gears, but most have single speed freewheels or coaster brakes.

We'll have food, drinks, and music while we work in a fun, casual community bike shop.

If you're interested in helping out on an individual basis, or if you have a group of mechanics who wants to help out, please email me at josh@communitycycles.org for more details. We'll be scheduling shop visits from mechanics so as to balance the traffic and maximize your experience and ours.

Thanks so much, and Happy Holidays!
